MEMENTO

You might wonder what happened during all these trips around the world. Geneva, New-York, Tokyo, Hong-Kong, Seoul, Shanghai, Moscow, Paris ... Let's rewind ...

For every end, there is a beginning: let's travel, you are invited.

9th October 2008,

Geneva 2: "Ready to land"

Announcement:
The sound of the plane roaring to full speed, as I quit my departure point. Say goodbye for a while. The land looks smaller and smaller. When the plane reached its cruising position, the pilot makes its announcement. It will be 30 degrees in Geneva ... and sunny. Yeah :-)

The meal:
A 3 hours flight is decomposed in many rituals. The first one is the meal, now it was early morning, and after the rush to the airport, and all those controls and passport checking, my stomach was starting to demand its due. I welcomed the lunch break with fierce and swift bite. The meal is always a combination of your destination's flavors: going to Geneva, we would be greeted with a meal with local products from Geneva. It is a good "anticipation", a taste of what awaits you. A nice greating in a way.

Geneva speaks french:
I decided to travel light: like extra-light. I didn't take a book to read for the trip or the inevitable idle moments of a such a voyage. The thing is that, preparing for the trip, I had the tendency to think about the big things like the planes' connection ;-) or the passport and visas ;-). Not to worry as the flight is provided with a combination of local newspapers that carried me for a good half an hour. Ah ... a detail that counts: Geneva speaks french. That reconnected me to my past life in Paris ... my language skills didn't go out of the window ;-) I guess it is like biking, you never really forget.

Ready to land:
If you have read everything that is available, from the safety instructions, to the duty free brochures, and the multiple newspapers available, and if you still have time: then you'll always have the view. I was lucky, we flew above the sky, the view was just magnificent. I stared for what seemed an eternity (should it look like that ? Heaven ...). But when a noise coming from nowhere awaked me from my eerie endeavor, it felt just like an instant: the pilot announced: " ... ready to land" ...

aquí está un poco de foto de mi viaje ...
